As Managing Director at Harbor Capital, Jeremy focuses on both creating capital solutions for the firm’s clients and sourcing appropriate institutional investors for debt and equity offerings.
Jeremy entered the investment banking business in 1982 in the institutional fixed income division of Morgan Stanley. He was instrumental in the formation of Morgan’s credit derivative and structured credit sales group. Throughout his career he focused on the creation of numerous private placement offerings tailored specifically to his institutional client base in a variety of currencies. In 2005 he left Morgan Stanley to assume the role of Chief Investment Officer at Aflac, where he was responsible for their $100 billion investment portfolio. Jeremy remained CIO at Aflac until 2012, when he took the opportunity to join Mr. van Buitenen at Harbor Capital Partners, LLC to provide unique investment banking capabilities with a strong institutional investor platform.
Jeremy attended Yale University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He currently is a trustee for two private charitable foundations focusing on mentoring disadvantaged teens. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities licenses.
Winston G. van Buitenen is the Managing Member of Harbor Capital Group, LLC and devotes the majority of his business efforts to thoroughly understanding client financing needs and preparing preliminary underwriting analyses to assure that proposed financing solutions are marketable to debt and equity investors.
Winston began his career in the New York City practice office of Price Waterhouse serving investment banking and money center banking clients. Shortly thereafter, he began a 15 year career with Sony Corporation of America in various senior executive positions including Chief Operating Officer of Lowes Theaters and Executive Vice President of Sony Retail Entertainment. During his Sony career he built several large movie theater complexes in New York City and oversaw the construction of Sony’s 1,000,000 sq. ft. mixed use European headquarters project in Berlin, Germany. For the past decade, Mr. van Buitenen has devoted his energies to providing all forms capital market solutions to commercial real estate owners including leased-backed, build-to-suit, tenant improvement, bridge, mezzanine, and public incentivized project financings.
Mr. van Buitenen attended Fairfield University and graduated with a BS degree in Accounting. He earned a New York State CPA (inactive). He has also held FINRA Series 7 and 63 Securities licenses. He is passionate about the secondary urban education and provides financial leadership to Cardinal Hayes High School located in Bronx, New York.
